Fereshteh Pezeshki

Fereshteh Pezeshki, born in 1969 in Tehran, Iran, is a multi-disciplinary artist, working primarily within watercolour and mixed media, her work explores nature and her connection to her Australian surroundings through abstract and still life paintings with traditional Persian narratives.

In 2009 Pezeshki migrated to Australia, after completing her BA in Visual Arts at AL Zahra University, and her MA in Illustration from Tehran Azad University, in Iran. She went on to complete her MA in Teaching of Visual Arts, at UTS University of Sydney.

Pezeshki has exhibited in solo exhibitions and group shows in Iran and Australia, including Torques Paradox, Me Art Space, St Leonard’s, Sydney 2017, Home and Prize Walker Street Gallery & Arts Centre Melbourne 2016, Temporary Life, Annandale Creative Arts Centre, Annandale, Sydney, 2015, Sales Art Gallery, Tehran Iran, 2006, Half Samar Gallery, Tehran, Iran, 2001 and The Youth Empirical Arts Expansion Centre at 5th National Festival of Visual Arts, where she won First prize in Illustration in 1992 and the Honor Award in 1994.

Along with her practice, Pezeshki regularly teaches and holds workshops, helping children and seniors with creative expression through painting, using various media such as acrylic, oil and watercolour, drawing and sculpture.
